The CoolGlide Long Pulse Nd:YAG laser (1064nm), a versatile 1064nm laser, is available in three different configurations, the CoolGlide CV for hair removal for all skin types, the CoolGlide Excel for vascular treatment and the CoolGlide Vantage for non-ablative skin rejuvenation (laser genesis).
Nd:YAG technology was Cutera's first development in 1998 and is also available on the Cutera XEO platform.

Q&A
Why is independent control of the three essential parameters important?
In contrast to many competitors, Cutera has also succeeded in generating sufficient power with shorter pulse durations. This is important for the treatment of fine structures such as fine blood vessels or fine hairs (principle of selective photothermolysis). This requires a source that can generate a sufficient level of peak power. Together with the DEKA SynchroHP, CoolGlide technology is able to generate exceptionally high peak power. Furthermore, the high performance source ensures that even with high power the speed of treatment is not compromised.
Why is cooling with a metal surface better than cooling with sapphire?
The heat-conducting properties of copper are 10 times better than those of sapphire. This means the skin is cooled faster and retains the cold longer, resulting in efficient epidermal protection. A second advantage of the unique Cutera CoolGlide ClearView handpiece is the shape of the cooling tip. During the treatment of blood vessels, for example, maximal visibility is maintained. This is in contrast with systems that use a sapphire window, which compromises the visibility due to factors such as condense formation.
